This page keeps changing because there's so many more sites I want to add... Some categories have gotten so big they have their own page now, so you'll have to click on the categories on the left to get there.
Bartleby.com ~ Great site with all kinds of books online... complete with a search feature that acutally works!
What a creative name for a website, too! *grin* For those not familiar with classic literature, the name comes from Herman Melville's "Bartleby the Scrivener"
Enjoying "Macbeth" The guy that put this site together has a great grasp of Shakespeare, and I applaud him for going above and beyond the typical English teacher's requirement of symbolism etc... His true enthusiasm for the works shine. Page should be a mandatory viewing for anyone reading the play. But heck, that's just my opinion.
The On-Line Books Page ~ pretty neat site. Has few modern books, but has a HUGE assortment of essays and dissertations... stuff that you probably won't find anywhere else. Serendipity. You can skip the basketweaving section, though... lol.
Telephone Songs Because your life TRULY isn't complete unless you know how to play "Louie Louie" on the phone keypad! *eyeroll*
The California Experience This page is too cute! Works best with Internet Explorer. (Don't even bother if you're using AOL~ it doesn't work on their browser)
Anagram Fun What other words can you make out of your name?
These pages really don't have much of a purpose~ but useless doesn't necessarily mean BAD. *giggle*
Pinball? Does your office computer really have all the games removed from it?
Crap Pictures Everybody has them... that means YOU too! This page is a tribute to all the great shots we take. You know the ones~ all blurry, with fingers in front of the lens, pointed at the ground, with a stranger walking into your shot.
Verb Conjugator Even better than the classic book "501 Spanish Verbs", this site claims to have over 10,000 verbs there. Although I can't even fathom there being 10,000 verbs, I'll take their word for it. Hasn't done me wrong yet!
Also, be sure to visit La Pagina De La Chingada while you're there! It's written entirely in Spanish, but it doesn't take too much to understand it! :O)
Webspañol All kinds of Spanish language resources for the non~native speaker. Including a test that was more confusing than I thought it would be! You're sure to learn something new there with each visit!
Find an Egg! Often called "Easter Eggs" because they're hidden little gems you find... here's a site that lists thousands of them in books, programs, movies... all kinds of things. This is the ULTIMATE egg site.
Poetry Daily Simple, but don't underestimate it's quality because of its lack of ads or flashy pictures. A new poem every day. Gives great variety of modern poetry.
Get Lyrics There's a TON of lyrics here.. even for the most obscure songs... they may be absolved. Watch out for the popups... and whatever ya do, DON'T follow the free MP3 Links... it will mess your computer settings all up!
What's That Song?
LyricFind.com You can look up songs by the title, artist, or (and this is pretty neat) by entering some of the lyrics. Pretty neat site!
Other Assorted Sites:
Project Linus A wonderful nonprofit organization that recruits people to donate new, handmade blankets for ill or traumatized children.
Chicklit "Smart, Witty, Literate as Hell"... and it is. This site won my heart with their dissertation on Spanglish and how it's actually becoming a language in America.
Aphorisms Galore! Not only filled with TONS of aphorisms, but also gives information from who said it and when. Great site.
Rosebriar - Elaine's Pages Lots of gardening info, poems, great graphics, and other sweet stuff to read and share.
Flying Cloud Gifts Some of the nicest people. I've ordered several of my lovely S'mores from them. Great stuff. ...and I've conveniently set the link to go straight to the S'mores section of the store in case you feel like doing a little shopping! hehe...
Flowers and other Domesticities!
Exotic Flowers Information on orchids and birds of paradise. Encourages even novice gardners to try growing these so called "difficult" plants.
GRITS! A website devoted to Grits and your other traditonal Southern foods... mostly grits though!
The Condiment Packet Museum In the WHY category. Someone has actually organized and photographed condiment packets galore. I was amazed at how many were actually there! And I find myself thinking of this site whenever I get some kind of funky sauce packets now!
Feeling Philanthropic?
AnySoldier.com A "grassroots" organization that helps put you in touch directly with soldiers. I don't care what political affiliation you may have ... we still need to SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!
